190 Somebody Called the Police on Us

On the road again and off to another city. Today was a long, tiring travel day. We left Santa Cruz at 7:30 AM and were off to the airport in São Paulo. That was a two hour bus ride. At the airport we said goodbye to our amazing bus driver Michael and tour guide Rosane or as some people called her Tante Rosane. We were sad to say goodbye as they have been so amazing to us making our trip smooth and enjoyable. At the airport we met some friends of Fernando while we waited for our flight. Going through the check in was nerve wracking for some...they weren't sure if their suitcase would be too heavy. Despite the busy schedule we've found time to shop. Everything went smoothly and we were on our way back to São Paulo. The 1 1/2 hour flight was very rough and several people were feeling sick. Thankfully we made it safely and were glad to be on solid ground again.

At the airport we were picked up by our new bus driver and were off on the 5 hour bus trip from São Paulo to Ribeiro Preto. We made a quick stop for dinner but the rest was straight driving. Needless to say we were all pretty exhausted from the long travel day and whirlwind week. We were greeted at the university by a police escort and our billet families! We are looking forward to sharing billet stories with one another as that is always a highlight of our mini tour.
